Support & setup
Bring your supplier data into a reviewable workflow, then publish the compatibility information you approve.

Include your shop domain, the affected source or job ID, what you expected, and the error message. Remove confidential information from screenshots. Never send passwords, Shopify access tokens or supplier API keys.
Get started
- Open CompatLedger Fitment QA from Apps in your Shopify admin. No separate app account is needed.
- Open Settings → Plans & billing, choose a plan and review Shopify’s subscription approval screen.
- In Overview → Getting started, choose your industry. Then create a source in Data → Sources and map your supplier columns.
- In Data → Imports, download the CSV template, add your own product identifiers and compatibility evidence, then preview the file. Correct errors before confirming the import.
- Open Quality → Catalog audits and run a catalog audit. Review findings and their supporting evidence.
- Create a correction in Changes and select its compatibility template. Review the before and after values, approve the draft, then publish the approved change in a separate step.
Only import information you own or have permission to use. The sample files are examples; match their product identifiers to products in your own shop.
Add the Fit Data Panel
Use an Online Store 2.0 theme with a JSON product template that supports app blocks. The panel is optional; imports and catalog audits do not require a theme change.
- In Shopify, open Online Store → Themes → Customize (or Edit theme). Select the theme you want to edit. You can test on a duplicate theme before publishing it.
- Use the template selector to open Products and choose the template assigned to your product. Select a preview product.
- Within a section that supports app blocks, select Add block → Apps → Fit Data Panel. If needed, use Add section → Apps instead.
- Drag the panel to the desired position. In CompatLedger → Changes → Storefront panel, enable it, set its heading and empty-state message, then save the panel settings.
- Preview desktop and mobile layouts, then Save in Shopify’s theme editor. Changes to an unpublished theme only appear publicly after you publish that theme.
- Publish an approved compatibility change for the preview product. Open the storefront product page and select the matching variant to verify the panel. Imports and approved drafts alone do not create published data.
Cannot find the block or see compatibility data?
Confirm that you are editing a product template, that the theme supports app blocks, and that the product uses this template. For a vintage theme or a section without app block support, use a compatible Online Store 2.0 theme or contact your theme developer. Check that the panel is enabled, the theme changes are saved, and compatibility data has been published for the selected product and variant. The panel displays published app records; metafield publishing is a separate feature.
Move, hide or remove the panel
In the theme editor, drag the Fit Data Panel block to move it, use the visibility control to hide it, or select the block and Remove block. Save the theme afterward. Removing the block does not delete imported records or roll back published product values. No manual theme code edits are required.
Frequently asked questions
How do I fix a supplier connection or column mapping?
In Data → Sources, expand Edit source. Update the name, column mapping or connection fields and save. Leave connection fields blank to keep their saved values for the same destination; credentials are never shown again. A new feed domain requires a replacement token or explicit token removal. A new SFTP hostname or account requires replacement credentials, and a new host requires a verified fingerprint. Changes apply to future imports and syncs, while the source ID, existing records and history remain unchanged. The source type stays fixed.
Does an import change my products?
No. Importing stores compatibility evidence. Audits create findings. Product writes require a reviewed draft, approval and a separate publish action.
Why did a row fail validation?
Check the error report for its row number and reason. Confirm required fields, product identifiers, year ranges and result values. You can correct the file and preview it again. A file can be up to 10 MB.
Why is the storefront panel empty?
Check that the panel is enabled, the block is saved in the active product template, and a record has been published for the displayed product and variant. An imported record or approved draft alone is not a published record.
Can I undo a publish?
Open Changes → Publish history and review the saved before and after values. Eligible writes can be rolled back when the current value still matches the app’s write. A later edit can prevent rollback so that newer work is not overwritten.
Which plans support remote supplier data?
Growth supports HTTPS CSV sources. Pro also supports JSON feeds, SFTP, supplier upload API tokens and custom audit rules. Suppliers can submit imports, but cannot approve or publish changes.
How do subscriptions work?
Starter is $39 USD per 30 days, Growth is $69 USD per 30 days or $690 USD per year, and Pro is $139 USD per 30 days or $1,390 USD per year. Starter offers a three-day trial for eligible first-time subscribers. Shopify displays the terms and requests approval. You can change or cancel a plan in Settings → Plans & billing.
What happens when I cancel?
Paid operations pause after the subscription is no longer verified as active. Review and export access remain available while the app is installed. Previously published product values are not automatically rolled back.
Why can I no longer download an old upload?
Temporary uploaded files and error reports expire after seven days. Confirmed, active compatibility records remain in the app and can be exported separately.
